We will pick you up at 8 AM from your hotel in Marrakech to departe for Ait benhadou and Telouet Kasbah day tour that takes you across the chain of the High Atlas mountains and over the famous Tizi-n-Tichka pass(2260 m). All along the road you can see the Berber villages scattered along the side of the mountains. After the Tichka pass, we leave the main road and take a side road to the Telouet Kasbah , it is one of the most important sights of yesterday's Morocco. The story began during the hard winter of 1893, when Sultan Moulay Hassan was stranded here. He, and his army of 3,000 was well taken care of by the two brothers Glaoui, Madani and T'Hami. In return of their services, they were given political power of Morocco south of High Atlas Mountains. The years that followed the Glaoui brothers strengthened their position, and when the French came some 20 years later, they started a cooperation with them as well. By the end of the French colonial period, the Glaouis were almost as strong in power as the sultan himself. From there you continue to Ksar Ait Ben Haddou along the newly asphalted road. The afternoon is spent exploring the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou, This is the most famous of all Moroccan kasbahs, largely due to its appearance in many Hollywood blockbusters. It was one of the most important fortress strongholds on the old Salt Road caravan routes, where traders brought slaves, gold, ivory and salt from sub-Saharan Africa to Marrakesh and beyond. In the afternoon back to Marrakech, drop you off at your hotel.
