Tour Overview

Day 1: Rabat - Casablanca - Al-Jadida

In the morning, explore the capital city of Rabat. You can wander around the city with the driver to the Hassan Tower and Mohammed V Mausoleum, Chellah Gardens and Necropolis, as well as the Oudayas Kasbah which overlooks into the Atlantic Ocean. Then travel to Casablanca where you can visit the Hassan II Mosque, the third largest mosque in the world, Habbous quarter, and the art deco buildings in the center of the city. Overnight in El-Jadida.

Day 2: El-Jadida - Safi - Essaouira

After your breakfast, travel by road via the Atlantic Coast to the UNESCO heritage city Essaouira (also known to an old Portuguese city “Mogador”) with many stops along the way. You reach the city after three hours drive. Lunch is enjoyed in a nice seafood restaurant. Enjoy a 2-hour walk in the old medina of Essaouira and the surrounding harbour area along the Atlantic Coast. Overnight in Essaouira.

Day 3: Essaouira - Agadir - Tafraoute

After the first meal of the day, you will leave for the old city Mogador and make your way towards Agadir. We pass the Argan trees climbed by local goats and other picturesque landscapes along the Atlantic Coast. You will take new trails through the foothills of the Anti Atlas where small oasis and Berber villages are surrounded by landscapes of desert mountains. You will arrive in the evening at Tafraoute village located 1200m above sea level, amidst a circus of huge blocks of pink granite ablaze at sunset in beautiful shades of pink, ocher and purple. Overnight accommodation in hotel.

Day 4: Tafraoute - Tata - Erg Chigaga

An early morning start to the desert. You will travel along the valley of Ait Mensour with millions of palm trees; the landscape gradually becomes dry and the green disappears. Then you begin a descent towards Tata, the landscape is awe-inspiring. Interspersed with an oasis for relaxation, our trip will lead us to Foum zguid. Our trip will lead us across the even plane of Lac Iriki, a dried-out lake in a solitary desert landscape glistening white in the sunshine in order to reach the immense sand dunes of Erg Chegaga where there are still nomads living with herds of camels today. You will enjoy the rough beauty, the endless vastness and quietude of the desert. You will experience the constant change of light depending on the position of the sun that turns this archaic countryside into a bizarre dream landscape and where you will enjoy a picturesque sunset, upon the sand dunes of 300m high and 40 km along. Dinner and night in nomad's tent or under the starlit in a Bivouac.

Day 5: Chigaga - M’hamid - Zagora - Nkob

After enjoying the fresh morning breeze and sunrise upon the Chigaga dunes, you enjoy your breakfast. The journey will lead us across sand roads and stone deserts, deep into the Moroccan Sahara. On the way we will stop in the midst of the desert to rest at a wonderful oasis that is supplied by the Source Sacré. Travel towards Zagora with a stop in M’hamid for a cup of tea. Then, we reach a nice historical village named Tamegroute for the visit of a nice underground kasbah and also a Koranic library. After 30km you will arrive at Zagora for lunch break. We continue our exploration towards Nkob with nice stops in the longest valley of Morocco named Draa valley with thick palm trees groves, lot of kasbahs and traditional old houses. Arriving Nkob where will be your overnight accommodation.

Day 6: Nkob - Tazarine - Alnif - Rissani - Merzouga (camel trekking)

After breakfast we will leave for Merzouga, driving through Tazarine, Alnif. Will enjoy the sightseeing of the fascinating Berber villages. Continue the trip through Er Rissani, where we will stop for mint tea. After the break we will continue to Merzouga (Erg Chebbi). The most attracting hotel in the area, where our camels will be awaiting us. After welcoming refreshments, just before sunset, we mount camels and trek through the desert dunes accompanied by an experienced camel man. We arrive at our oasis and Berber encampment among the dunes in two hours. Delight in a delicious slow-cooked Berber meal and African drumming music under the stars.

Day 7: Merzouga - Rissani - Todra Gorge - Dades Valley

In the morning you will ride the camels backing to Merzouga, you’ll have the breakfast and shower in the hotel in Merzouga. You’ll leave for Rissani there you can visit the souk (the biggest market in area) then continue to Tinghir and Todra Gorges - the highest, narrowest gorges in Morocco. After lunch in the heart of the gorge we will drive through the Dades Valley, where you’ll see the majestic sand castles and the amazing rock formations known as “monkey toes”. Overnight accommodation will be in a fancy hotel overlooking the Dades valley.

Day 8: Dades Valley - Kalaat Mgouna - Skoura - Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - Marrakech

After breakfast it's a departure to Ouarzazate passing through the Dades Valley, the line of kasbahs that give this extremely popular route its nickname as valley of a thousand kasbahs. Just before the town of Skoura, visit Kalaa Mgouna, the rose city, where you can purchase local rosewater. We will continue to Ouarzazate, “The Hollywood of Africa”. On the “Road of the thousand Kasbahs” - the fascinating “sand castles”. After 30 kilometers from Ouarzazate we will stop at the famous Kasbah Ait Benhaddou. The kasbah is one of the most intriguing red earth castles lining the ancient road of the Kasbahs, and is a UNESCO world heritage site. Lunch by the Kasbah and continue on our way to Marrakesh through the famous Tizi-in-Tichka pass over the High Atlas Mountains. The range has snow on its peaks most of the year. Appreciate the beauty of the timeless landscapes on the twisted roads through Berber villages. Arriving Marrakesh the end of our services.
